AT&T Internet does require an Ethernet jack in your wall.
This will be how your Gateway connects to our network, which will then let you connect to the internet through Wi-Fi. If you don’t have an active wall jack or need a new one installed, one of our technicians can install them for you.
Will AT&T give me a new router?
We may replace your modem, Wi-Fi gateway, or maintenance plan equipment with a similar or refurbished product. Lost or stolen equipment may be replaced at the market rate.
Does AT&T require signature deliveries?
From what I have seen historically over the last 4 or 5 iPHone releases, AT&T generally does not require signatures for delivery of the products they ship, so I would advise that you plan t have someone present for the delivery.

- Connect modem to coaxial or phone jack.
- Plug in modem power cord.
- Connect router to modem with ethernet cable.
- Plug router power cord into wall socket.
- Call the provider tech support number and give them your modem MAC address so they can activate service.
Do you have to use ATT router?
You have to use the AT&T Wi-Fi Gateway, which adds an extra $10 a month to your bill. However, you’re free to disable the router part of that gateway and use a router of your own.

If you’re paying a monthly equpment fee for your “Wireless Gateway,” then yes, replacements are free. If you purchased a Gateway from AT&T between a year ago and January 2015, the purchased gateway is still under warranty and they will again, replace it for free.

Your modem is a box that connects your home network to the wider Internet. A router is a box that lets all of your wired and wireless devices use that Internet connection at once and also allows them to talk to one another without having to do so over the Internet.
Can I replace my ATT modem with my own?
AT&T requires you to use their gateway for their fiber service. You can disable the router portion (pass through mode) and connect a much better router to it. There is also a way to use your own modem but AT&T will still charge you the monthly fee regardless of what you do once you signup for the service.
Does ATT use USPS?
