Basically “Hidden” is a special album that appears if you start hiding photos. Every hidden photo automatically vanishes from your Camera Roll, however, and while they are backed up to iCloud, they are apparently “not visible when viewing the library from a web browser” according to a chat group.
You should be able to find your Hidden album by opening the Photos app, and then tapping the Albums icon at the bottom. Then, scroll down to the very bottom of the Albums view and look for “Other Albums.” You should see Hidden there, along with Imports, and Recently Deleted.
To unhide a photo, you can use the same keyboard shortcut or choose Unhide Photo from the Photos menu option. Or by mousing over a thumbnail of a hidden photo, you can use the small arrow in the lower-right corner to select the option that is, oddly, labeled Show instead of Unhide.
Just figured it out! Go back to your photo app and scroll to the very bottom. This view will show the “Other Albums” including the “Hidden” folder to find your hidden photos.
The Hidden album will now be visible in the Photos app. To find it, tap Albums and scroll down to the bottom of the screen. Here you can see the Hidden album under Utilities, alongside Imports and Recently Deleted.
You can’t “lock” the hidden album, or even hide a photo behind a Face or Touch ID, or passcode. The biggest issue is all of your hidden media is accessible in a single location. Anyone who has access to your unlocked phone can open your Hidden folder with a few taps.
Whenever you want to view the photos you have just hide you can Go to the Archive menu by clicking on Archive in Options. Here you will find all your hidden photos.
If you move the image(s) to the Hidden Album in the iOS Photos app before backing up to Google Photos (e.g., if the Google Photos is closed) they will not be synched from the Hidden Album.
There are no hidden albums in Google Photos. You can see your albums in the Albums or the Shared sections in Photos. You can change where to see a shared album by using the three-dot menu and selecting Show in albums, for example.
To view your hidden photos and videos, tap on the Albums tab in the Photos app. Find the album called Hidden and tap on it (it will be down at the bottom of your screen, under Utilities.)
