How do docking ports work KSP?
Docking was officially introduced in KSP 0.18 and allows separate ships to join into a single entity that is controlled as one and allows the transfer of resources and Kerbonaut between connected modules. To get close enough to even consider docking, you’ll need to perform an orbital rendezvous.
How do you change the docking control in KSP?
Press the “ Delete ” key to get into docking mode. (The “ Insert ” key takes you back to normal mode.) Press the ‘ F ‘ key to change between LIN and ROT (lower-left corner of the screen). The mode you want for driving is going to be LIN (the translation docking mode).

- Place a maneuver somewhere and pull prograde until you get the intercept markers.
- Move the maneuver around the orbit around your orbit until you get a close intercept.
- IF you choose to move it to the next orbit, you will need to spin the maneuver around your orbit.
How do you match orbit and dock in KSP?
Docking / rendezvous
- Go to the map view and use the maneuver tool.
- Begin by matching your orbital inclination as described above.
- Bring one point on your orbit (ideally an apsis) tangent to the target orbit.
- At the point of nearest encounter maneuver to make:
- On reaching that encounter, burn to match velocity.
How do you drive a KSP in Rover?
By default, a rover is controlled with the keys W , A , S , & D . Unfortunately these keys also control vehicle rotation, which can make a rover completely uncontrollable on planets with low gravity. As a workaround for this problem, the rover controls can be remapped to different keys in the Settings menu.

- switch over to the disabled ship and follow it all the way down.
- deorbit the rescue ship.
How do you set maneuver nodes in KSP?
Adding a maneuver node
