On the left hand side of your Google Drive look for link ‘Share with me’. Click the link. The folder listing on the right hand side of your Google Drive will show all the folders and files that have been shared with you. Click on either the folder or file to open it up.

Go to View Details (Click the “I” icon on the toolbar). Browse the Activity tab to quickly see which files you have shared, recently. Click on Shared with Me on the left sidebar of Google Drive. You’ll get a list of all the documents you share access to.
Find files in a shared drive by owner
- In the shared drive search box, enter creator: followed by the email of the person in your organization who created the file.
- (Optional) To refine your search, add other search terms in the search box or click the Down arrow.
- Press Enter.
Important: Shared Drives is only available with the G Suite Enterprise, Business, or Education editions. If you don’t see Shared Drives in Google Drive, it might not be available for your organization. For details, contact your G Suite administrator.
To see the files that others have shared with you:
- Open Word, Excel, or PowerPoint. If you already have a document or workbook open, select File.
- Scroll down and select the Shared with Me tab, or select Open > Shared with Me.

- Navigate to Google Drive.
- In the left navigation, right click Shared Drives.
- Click New Shared Drive.
- Enter New Shared Drive using naming convention (ex.

Why can’t I see files in Google Drive?
Clear your browser cache and cookies and then try to load your Drive files again.If you turned on offline access and you’re still having trouble opening files, try turning it off and on again to resolve the issue. Go to Settings and next to Offline, uncheck or check the Sync to edit offline box to turn it on or off.
Shared drives are shared spaces where teams can easily store, search, and access their files anywhere, from any device. Unlike files in My Drive, files in a shared drive belong to the team instead of an individual.
4.1 Share files or folders

- Under “Share with people and groups,” enter the email address you want to share with.
- To change what people can do to your item, on the right, click the Down arrow.
- Choose to notify people.
- Click Share or Send.
Drag Files Directly into Google Drive
Log in to drive.google.com with your Google Drive account. Step 2. Click Shared with me, navigate to the folder where you want to upload the file, and then open the local folder, and drag the file to the Google Drive shared folder.
Google shared drives (formerly known as Team Drives) are a new feature in Google’s G Suite. Unlike files in My Drive, files in shared drives are owned by the team/group rather than an individual. You can use shared drives in Google Drive to store, search, and access files with a team. Shared drive files belong to the team instead of an individual. Even if members leave, the files stay in place so your team can keep sharing information and work anywhere, from any device.
Open the Google Drive folder in your browser then press Control + a or Command + a —or drag your mouse over all of the files—to select them all. Then right-click and select Make a Copy. That will create a new copy of each of those files, right in the same folder, with Copy of before their original file name.
Shared with me is actually very different from Shared Drives despite the similar name. When you view this section you can see files and folders that others have granted permission for you to view and/or edit.The owner of those files has full control and can revoke access at any point.
