OneDrive for Business has settings for versioning which allows you to track and manage items as they progress. When versioning is turned on, older versions of items are kept when revisions are made. This allows you to recover earlier versions of items that may be more accurate than later ones.

How do I track my OneDrive activity?

By default, SharePoint Online document libraries are configured to keep 500 versions of a document. You can change this number, but you cannot set it lower than 100.
What information does the version history give you?
It gives you a running list of the changes that have occurred in your files over their lifetimes. Specifically, version history gives you access to old copies of your files and shows you the number of each version, the size of each version, as well as who created each version and when.
Version History is turned on by default in SharePoint, but if you don’t see the Version History command, it may be turned off. Depending on how your admin has set up SharePoint, you may be able to turn on list or library versioning.
How many versions does OneDrive keep?
If you sign in with a personal Microsoft account, you can retrieve the last 25 versions. If you sign in with a work or school account, the number of versions will depend on your library configuration. If you’re using OneDrive as part of SharePoint Server, your administrator may have turned off document versioning.
I don’t see a version history option
