- Go to your site.
- In the top right corner, click Settings , or in top left, click Site Actions .
- Click Site Settings.
- Under Look and Feel, click Title, description, and logo.

Renaming SharePoint Online site URL
- Open Office 365. Open Office 365 site using https://office.com address.
- Open SharePoint Administration Center. When you will open Admin site choose Admin centers (1) and then SharePoint Admin Center (2).
- Open New SharePoint Admin Center.
- Rename the site.
It was announced May 21st, 2019 at the SharePoint Conference that by the end of 2019, there will be GA (general availability), for everyone to be able to rename their SharePoint site urls. While renaming a URL, they will automatically provide redirection for the old url so existing links will not break.
Unfortunately, it isn’t possible to change the SharePoint Online domain name for your organization in Office 365. To use the new domain name, you would need to purchase a new Office 365 subscription and move all email, files, and any other data you want to keep to the new subscription.
Select the root site (https://contoso.sharepoint.com). Select Replace site. In the URL of the site you want to use box, enter the full or relative URL of the site that you want to become the new root site. Select Save.
Add Another Owner to Your SharePoint Site
- Navigate to your SharePoint site.
- Once you are at the site, click on the gear in the upper right-hand corner and select “Site permissions.”
- In the Site permissions window, click on “Advanced permissions settings.”
- Click on “Site Owners.” In the new window, click “New.”
Finding the URL of a SharePoint site is straightforward, especially if the site is connected to an Office 365 Group (team).
You can:
- Open the SharePoint site from the group or Teams and note the URL.
- Run PowerShell to find the URL.
- Look at the site details in the SharePoint Admin Center to find the URL (Figure 2).
Your SharePoint domain name can’t be changed if your organization is currently set up for Microsoft 365 Multi-Geo or was previously set up for it. No action available. Restoring a site to a previous time before the domain name change isn’t possible. No action available.
Browse to the document library >> Click on “Document Library Settings” under the Library Settings group of the ribbon. Click on the “List Name, Description and Navigation” link under General Settings. Provide a new name to your list under the “Name” field. Click Save button to commit your changes.
Add and publish a page
- Go to the site where you want to add a page.
- Go to the home page of the site.
- Select + New, and then select Page.
- Add a page name in the title area.
- Add web parts.
- Click + to add content like text, documents, video and more.
Change a site address in the new SharePoint admin center
To open the details pane, select the site name. On the General tab, under URL, select Edit. Enter the new site address, and then select Save.
Can I rename my o365 tenant?
Unfortunately, you cannot rename Azure tenant. However, you can create a new tenant with desired name (if the name is available and not already taken by someone else) and then transfer your pay-as-you-go subscription to the new tenant.
Where can you modify the name of your Organisation in your tenant?
If you are an admin, you can go to Office 365 admin center > Settings > Organization profile to edit the organization name.
Navigate to the home page of the existing SharePoint Online team site >> Click on Create a team from the Microsoft Teams prompt in the bottom left corner of the screen. It spins the wheel with a “Creating Team” message for a while, and you’ll get a “Success!

- On your site, click Settings. and then click Change the look > Theme.
- Select the look you want.
- To customize the colors of one of the default SharePoint themes, select the theme and then click Customize.
Delete users
- In your site, click Site Contents, and then click Settings.
- Under “Users and Permissions”, click People and groups.
- On the left, select the group from which you’d like to remove the users.
- Use the checkboxes to select the users you want to delete.
- Click Actions, and then select Remove Users from Group.

SharePoint Site Owner is an individual/power user with Full Control privileges to the given SharePoint site. That means that this individual will be able to adjust the security/permissions of the site, be able to edit pages, add web parts, create new subsites and even delete a site if he/she wishes.
Navigate to the site or subsite you want to delete. at the top of the site or subsite, and then click Site settings. and then click Site Settings. Click Delete this site under the Site Actions heading on the Site Settings page.
Click on the SharePoint Online app in the Microsoft 365 app launcher (square in the top left corner of your screen). You can add . onmicrosoft.com to the tenantname above and it will be your full Microsoft 365 tenant name.
As a quick refresher, a ‘tenant’ is an organization that’s using Microsoft 365 products. Your organization’s tenant set up when you sign up for OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, or Power BI for the first time.
