On the left hand side of your Google Drive look for link ‘Share with me’. Click the link. The folder listing on the right hand side of your Google Drive will show all the folders and files that have been shared with you. Click on either the folder or file to open it up.

Find files in a shared drive by owner
- In the shared drive search box, enter creator: followed by the email of the person in your organization who created the file.
- (Optional) To refine your search, add other search terms in the search box or click the Down arrow.
- Press Enter.
To see the files that others have shared with you:
- Open Word, Excel, or PowerPoint. If you already have a document or workbook open, select File.
- Scroll down and select the Shared with Me tab, or select Open > Shared with Me.
To find and access a shared folder or printer:
- Search for Network , and click to open it.
- Select Search Active Directory at the top of the window; you may need to first select the Network tab on the upper left.
- From the drop-down menu next to “Find:”, select either Printers or Shared Folders.
Where are Google docs saved?
Any computer connected to the Internet can access Google Docs. Because each user saves information to the cloud system, he or she can access the same file from anywhere. Users don’t have to worry about which version of a document is the most current — it will always be saved in the Google cloud.

Type the word “owner” followed by a colon. No space and then the email address of the owner. This will filter your Google Drive for all of the documents that are owned by that email address.
If you open that shared link in your browser while you’re logged into your Google account, you’ll see it in the “Shared with me” section. Right click on the file and choose “Make a copy”, then a copy file will be created in your My Drve and saved as your file.
How can I see who accessed my Google Drive?
To check the list of people who can see your file, right-click the file in question and click Share. A window will appear showing you all the people who have access to your file. If you haven’t shared it with anyone, you’ll only see yourself on the list.

Launch Google Chrome and open the Google Drive extension. Check if the shared folders are visible. You can also view the shared folders in the web view. If you see the folders in the web view, it is most likely a bug, and Google should fix it soon.
After you remove files that people have shared with you
If you open a file you’ve removed, it will show up in “Shared with me” again. Files you’ve removed may show up in Drive search results.

Go the shared folder, which contains files you want to copy to your drive. Select all the files you want to copy. In the upper right corner click on three vertical dots and select “make a copy” The files will then appear in your drive.
Why did my Google Doc disappear?
Files stored in Google Drive can “go missing” when they become “orphaned”. This is when the file exists but the parent folders it was located in are deleted. For example, this can occur if you create a file in a folder owned by someone else and that folder is deleted.
