Set up a shared workbook
- Click the Review tab.
- Click Share Workbook in the Changes group.
- On the Editing tab, click to select the Allow changes by more than one user at the same time.
- In the Save As dialog box, save the shared workbook on a network location where other users can gain access to it.
In Windows Explorer, navigate to the shared location that contains the file, such as a network drive. Right click and drag the file into the body of your email. Shortcut menu displays. Click Create Hyperlink Here.
How do I add a file to a network?
Sharing files using basic settings
- Open File Explorer on Windows 10.
- Navigate to the folder you want to share.
- Right-click the item, and select the Properties option.
- Click on the Sharing tab.
- Click the Share button.
- Use the drop-down menu to select the user or group to share a file or folder.
- Click the Add button.
To do this, open File Explorer, right-click the file you want to share, and select Sharing. Now you’ll see all computers with Nearby Sharing enabled under the Find more people section. When you select that remote computer system, a notification will appear on the other computer that there’s an incoming file.
You can share your location on an Android device by using the Google Maps “Location sharing” feature. This feature lets you share your Android’s location with anyone in your contacts list. You can share your location with contacts who have Google accounts, as well as those who don’t.
Shared network locations Save files in a folder that your recipients can also access. You can then send recipients a message containing a link to the shared location. On the Insert tab, in the Links group, click Hyperlink.
Share files or photos in email
- Select the files or photos you want to share, and then select Share .
- Choose if you want to allow Allow editing.
- Select Email.
- Enter the email addresses of the people you’d like to share with and add an optional message.
- Select Share. Everyone you share with will receive an email.
Share with specific people
- Select the file you want to share.
- Click Share or Share .
- Under “Share with people and groups,” enter the email address you want to share with.
- To change what people can do to your doc, on the right, click the Down arrow.
- Choose to notify people.
- Click Share or Send.
Click the Start button, then Computer. Right-click on the folder containing the files you want to share, and select Share with. A further pop-up menu will give you a list of your network choices, such as Homegroup.
How do I save a file to my network location?
Open the file explorer window and locate the file(s) you want saved. Open another file explorer window and go to This PC > (network drive you want) Highlight all files you want to move to the network drive. Drag/drop the selected files to the window showing the desired network drive.
Share a folder, drive, or printer
- Right-click the folder or drive you want to share.
- Click Properties.
- Click Share this folder.
- In the appropriate fields, type the name of the share (as it appears to other computers), the maximum number of simultaneous users, and any comments that should appear beside it.
To share files using the Share feature on Windows 10, use these steps:
- Open File Explorer.
- Browse to the folder location with the files.
- Select the files.
- Click on the Share tab.
- Click the Share button.
- Select the app, contact, or nearby sharing device.
- Continue with the on-screen directions to share the content.
Share your live location
- Enable location permissions for WhatsApp in your phone’s Settings > Apps & notifications > Advanced > App permissions > Location > turn on WhatsApp.
- Open an individual or group chat.
- Tap Attach > Location > Share live location.
- Select the length of time you’d like to share your live location.
Share a map or location
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Maps app .
- Search for a place. Or, find a place on the map, then touch and hold to drop a pin.
- At the bottom, tap the place’s name or address.
- Tap Share .
- Choose the app where you want to share the link to the map.
How do I copy and paste a file path as a link?
Hold down Shift on your keyboard and right-click on the file, folder, or library for which you want a link. Then, select “Copy as path” in the contextual menu. If you’re using Windows 10, you can also select the item (file, folder, library) and click or tap on the “Copy as path” button from File Explorer’s Home tab.
How do I turn an attachment into a link?

- Select what you’d like to turn into a link and then select Insert > Hyperlink or press Ctrl + K.

How do you copy a file path?

Share a single item using a link
- Open a file in Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides.
- In the top right corner, click Share.
- Click “Get shareable link” in the top right of the “Share with others” box.
- To choose whether a person can view, comment, or edit the file, click the Down arrow next to “Anyone with the link.”
How do I link to a folder in OneDrive?
On the left navigation pane, under OneDrive, select Shared. Files and folders that you can add to your OneDrive are marked Can edit. Locate the folder you want to add, select the circle in the folder’s tile, and then select Add to my OneDrive on the top menu. Or right-click a folder and select Add to my OneDrive.

- Sign in to dropbox.com.
- Click All Files in the left column.
- Hover over the item you’d like to share.
- Click the share icon (person) that appears.
- Type the email or name of the person, people, or group you’d like to share with.
- Select Can edit from the dropdown menu.
- Click Share file or Share folder.
