How to share folders
- On your Android device, open the Google Driveapp.
- Next to the folder’s name, tap More .
- Tap Share .
- Type the email address or Google Group you want to share with.
- To choose whether a person can view, comment, or edit the file, tap the Down arrow .
- Tap Send.

Google Drive Is Not Sharing Files
If you are trying to share a file that you don’t own, the owner has either set your access level to Comment or View, or, if you have edit access, they’ve checked the box next to Prevent editors from changing access and adding new people. Contact the file owner to remedy this.
On the left hand side of your Google Drive look for link ‘Share with me’. Click the link. The folder listing on the right hand side of your Google Drive will show all the folders and files that have been shared with you.
To share a link with a non-Gmail user, right-click a folder or file to share in your Google Drive storage. Click Share on the item’s context menu. Click the Get link option. Then select the Anyone with the link option.
How do I enable sharing a link on Google Drive?

When the latest update is downloaded and installed, you need to click Relaunch and Chrome will restart. Incorrect settings may also cause Google Drive “Shared with me” not appearing. Resetting Chrome can effectively fix the error.
How to access a shared folder & add it to your Drive
- Open your Google Drive app (or go to drive.google.com on a laptop) and be sure you are logged in to your GPS account.
- In your email, click on the shared folder or file link.
- The shared folder or file will open in your Google Drive.
Can someone upload files to my Google Drive?

Share your Google Drive files publicly with no sign in required
- Select the blue Share button in the top right-hand side of your chosen Drive file.
- Select > Advanced in the bottom right-hand side, select > Change.
- You’ll see a range of Link Sharing options.
- Choose > On – public on the web > Choose Save.
Google Accounts don’t have to use a gmail.com address. You can associate any existing email address with a Google Account. Alternatively, files can be shared with non-Google accounts using visitor sharing. Learn how to Share documents with visitors.
To share files with people in your workgroup or domain:
- Select the file or folder you want to share.
- Go to the Share tab, and then in the Share with section, select Specific people.
- Enter email addresses for the people you want to share the file with, select Add for each one, then select Share.

Shared drives are shared spaces where teams can easily store, search, and access their files anywhere, from any device. Unlike files in My Drive, files in a shared drive belong to the team instead of an individual.
Send a link to a shared file
- Go to drive.google.com.
- Check the box next to the file or folder you’d like to share.
- Click the Share icon . OR. Click the More menu and select “Share…”
- Copy the link at the top of the sharing settings.
- Send the link to another person or mailing list in an email or chat.
Open the Google Drive document you want to share. Click the blue Share button on the top-right of the document. In the Share with people and groups dialog, click anywhere on the Get link box as indicated by the prompt. Grab the document link with a click on Copy link.
