Open SharePoint Designer 2013 by selecting it on the Start menu. Click Start icon, click All Programs, click Microsoft Office 2013, and then click SharePoint Designer 2013. Click Open Site on the SharePoint Designer 2013 start page. Enter the SharePoint site that you want to connect to.

Use SharePoint Designer with SharePoint Online

How to edit web parts
- Confirm that you have administrative rights to the page and all web parts you will edit.
- Browse to the SharePoint Server site that contains the web part or parts you will edit.
- On the SharePoint Ribbon, select the Page tab.
- Select Edit.
To install this download:

Microsoft revealed back in 2015 that there would not be a SharePoint Designer 2016, effectively discontinuing the software.In other words, while Microsoft still lets teams use SharePoint Designer 2013, the program is being phased out and will not be the future of workflows within the SharePoint platform.

On November 1, 2020, existing tenants will be unable to run or create SharePoint 2010 workflows. Starting in November 2020, SharePoint 2013 workflows will be turned off by default for new tenants. Existing SharePoint 2013 workflows remain supported but deprecated, with services supported until 2026.
Browse to a list or library where you want to create SharePoint workflow. Select “Library” tab and click “Workflow Settings” on the ribbon. Then select “Add a workflow” from the dropdown menu. You will be redirected to the SharePoint workflow adjustment page.
Create a workflow with an approval task
- Start SharePoint Designer.
- Connect to your Project Web App site.
- On the left, click Workflows.
- Click Sample Workflow.
- Click Edit workflow.
- On the ribbon, click Stage, and then click 1 – Propose idea.
