Shared Albums let you share photos and videos with just the people you choose — and they can add their own photos, videos, and comments.
When you share photos and videos with someone, they can save shared items to their own library.
- Tap the photo or video.

If you turn this setting off, then these Shared Photo Streams (and photos within them) will be removed from your device. But that does not affect what’s in your Camera Roll. If you have some Shared Photo Streams and want to preserve any photos within them, first save them to Camera Roll before turning this setting off.
To delete or unsubscribe from shared albums
- Open the Photos app.
- Tap on “Shared”
- Tap on “Edit”
- Tap on the “no entry” sign (⛔️)
- Tap on “Delete” for shared albums with from you.
- Tap on “Unsubscribe” for shared albums from someone else.
- Tap on “Done”
With iCloud Photo Sharing, you create a shared photo album for the images you want to share.They can also add photos and videos of their own. iCloud Photo Sharing lets you share photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Mac, or Windows computer.

Subscribers to a shared album can delete only the photos and videos they add. When you delete a photo or video from a shared album you own, it’s removed from the shared album on all your devices and all subscribers’ devices.
What happens if I turn off iCloud photo sharing on my iPhone?
If you have an iPhone and iPad with iCloud sharing enabled on both, all photos and videos will be shared across both devices. However, if you turn iCloud photos off on your phone, your iPhone’s Camera Roll will lose any images that weren’t created on that device (if you haven’t downloaded them already, that is).

If you remove someone from a shared album, but have link sharing turned on, anyone with the original link can still view the album. To prevent others with access from adding photos, turn off “Collaboration” under Options.
Can anyone see iCloud photos?
Photos need to be actually shared through that album to be visible to other members of the family group however. So unless you actually share you photos, they cannot be seen by anybody else.
The main difference between the two is that a ‘shared album’ can be shared and collaborated, where as in case of a normal albums despite its enabled sharing, options which allow collaboration are disabled by default.
