Self-installing your AT&T Internet service
- Connect one end of the green data cable to the green broadband port on your gateway.
- Connect the other end to the AT&T Broadband jack in your wall.
- Connect the black power cord to the back of your gateway, and plug it into an electrical outlet.

Do you need a phone jack for AT&T Internet?
AT&T Internet does require an Ethernet jack in your wall.
This will be how your Gateway connects to our network, which will then let you connect to the internet through Wi-Fi. If you don’t have an active wall jack or need a new one installed, one of our technicians can install them for you.

Will AT&T give me a new router?
We may replace your modem, Wi-Fi gateway, or maintenance plan equipment with a similar or refurbished product. Lost or stolen equipment may be replaced at the market rate.
Does ATT Internet use coax?
AT&T at one time would use coax if that was the best available connection from the NID to the Gateway. They’ve not done that in years. Even then, it was twisted pair to the home which got converted to coax. At this point, you either get Fiber or twisted pair, depending on your service.
Does AT&T need WIFI gateway?
AT&T requires you to use their gateway for their fiber service. You can disable the router portion (pass through mode) and connect a much better router to it. There is also a way to use your own modem but AT&T will still charge you the monthly fee regardless of what you do once you signup for the service.
Do you have to use ATT router?
