How long to hold freeze away on wart?
Compound W Freeze Off® should be applied immediately. Hold the foam applicator on common warts for 20 seconds or less. Smaller warts may require less than 20 seconds.
How often do I use freeze away wart remover?
In most cases, only one treatment is needed for each wart. Plantar warts may need more than one treatment. Warts are usually gone in two weeks after treatment with freeze away. If a wart or part of it is still there two weeks after treatment, you may then safely treat it again.
How do you use freeze away wart remover?
Apply one drop of Dr. Scholl’s Dual Action Freeze Away Fast-Acting Liquid at a time to the treated wart using the applicator stick. Let dry. Apply liquid twice daily for 2 weeks.

Does Freeze Away really work?
Works great!
Scholl’s Freeze Away Wart Remover is the only thing that works for them. It’s easy to use and works fast. I had treated them with some other products, and they would go away temporarily but the Dr. Schooll’s works and has kept them away permanently.
Why won’t my wart freeze off?
When a plantar wart does not go away after cryotherapy, it is usually because the entire wart was not exposed to the treatment. That can happen when a wart is very thick or the surface area of a wart is large. Another round of cryotherapy is then needed to eliminate the wart completely.
Is a wart contagious after freezing?
After a treatment, the skin will blister or get irritated and eventually slough off. That skin is dead and so is the virus within it so it isn’t contagious anymore.
Is a wart dead when it turns white?
Also try to keep it off the normal skin. The acid will turn the wart into dead skin (it will turn white).
Should you put a bandaid on a wart after freezing?
CRYOSURGERY (Freezing)
The area(s) treated may develop some swelling. This is normal and will resolve. The area treated with liquid nitrogen may also form a blister. You do not need to bandage the area until after the blister forms and breaks (which may be a few days).
What happens when you freeze a wart off?
Liquid nitrogen freezes and destroys both the wart and a small area of normal skin around the wart. A special spray bottle or a cotton swab is used to put on the liquid nitrogen. It takes about 10 to 20 seconds to apply.
How do you know if wart remover is working?
Signs that treatment is effective
People may notice the wart becoming flatter over time. When a doctor performs a procedure to treat a wart, its removal may be much quicker. For instance, the doctor may apply cantharidin (Cantharone) to the wart, which causes a blister to form underneath it.
Is it normal for a wart to turn black after freezing?
In most cases a blister will actually form within 3-6 hours. Often there is a small amount of bleeding into the blister which will turn it dark purple of black. This is expected and should not be cause for concern.
Does Freeze Away wart hurt?
Cryotherapy is painful. A numbing local anesthetic is usually not needed but may be used in some cases. Your doctor applies the liquid nitrogen to the wart using a probe or a cotton swab. Liquid nitrogen can also be sprayed directly on the wart.
Can I freeze a wart off myself?
Can you freeze them at home? Cryotherapy involving liquid nitrogen should only be performed by a healthcare professional. You may be able to use an OTC product, such as Compound W Freeze Off or Freeze Away Easy Wart Remover, to treat smaller warts at home. These kits use a mixture of propane mixed in dimethyl ether.
Can you walk after getting a plantar wart removed?
Patients who have just undergone plantar wart removal may be advised to wear loose footwear and crutches for a while. You’ll know that healing is well on its way when walking on the affected foot becomes comfortable again.
Can you cut a wart off with scissors?
After giving you a local anesthetic, the doctor can remove your warts using different methods. These include: Cutting them off with scissors. Shaving them off with a sharp blade (this is called shave excision)
What happens if you use too much wart remover?
Wart Remover can cause a rare but serious allergic reaction or severe skin irritation. Stop using Wart Remover and get emergency medical help if you have: hives, itching; difficult breathing, feeling light-headed; or swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Do some warts never go away?
Most warts will persist for one to two years if they are left untreated. Eventually, the body will recognize the virus and fight it off, causing the wart to disappear. While they remain, however, warts can spread very easily when people pick at them or when they are on the hands, feet or face.
Why am I suddenly getting warts?
What causes warts? Warts are caused by an infection with the human papilloma virus (HPV). The virus causes an excess amount of keratin, a hard protein, to develop in the top skin layer (epidermis). The extra keratin produces the rough, hard texture of a wart.
Can you cut warts off with nail clippers?
Don’t pick at warts or try to peel them off, as this will only spread the virus. Have separate nail clippers for healthy and infected areas. Try not to shave over warts. Try not to touch other people’s warts.
